In so-called dynamometers, ambient temperatures of -40 to +60 degrees Celsius are simulated and brake performance tests are carried out for light commercial vehicles up to 7.5 tons or sports cars with a top speed of 320 kilometers per hour.
Secret recipe for brake pad mixture
Up to 20 different raw material components are processed into a homogeneous brake pad compound. The exact composition of the brake pad compound is decisive for the quality and performance of a brake pad.

ENV6 product range
For over two years, Bosch ENV6 was geared to new versions of ABS and ESP® in the Bosch test bench laboratory and subjected to high loads in tests that exceed the legal standard:
Total area of 94 hectares with a large number of different test tracks on a total area of 25 hectares. The site is surrounded by the three-kilometer high-speed oval. All other test tracks are located within the site.
The test season in Vaitoudden lasts from the end of November to the end of March every year. The winter test center offers test tracks, workshops and offices. It is located about 10 km northwest of Arjeplog on the Vaitoudden peninsula in Sweden.
Covering an area of 120 hectares, the Juvincourt proving ground offers a 4.2-kilometer circuit and 26 different test tracks, one of which is certified by the FFSA.
With compound brake discs, the vehicle-specific nominal torque is achieved in three steps during wheel assembly:
Wheel bolts crosswise
When mounting the brake caliper or changing the brake pads, the steering angle may only be adjusted via the steering wheel. Loads on the windshield must be avoided.
Moisture, road salt and dirt can cause brake fluid to leak, the pistons to no longer move properly and the brake pads to run uncleanly.
Therefore: service the braking system regularly, e.g. by cleaning the moving parts. If the function cannot be maintained in this way, the road safety of the vehicle is at risk. In this case, it is essential to replace the brake calipers.
Before fitting the brake discs, the contact surfaces of the wheel hub must be cleaned, rust-free, burr-free and flat and must not show any signs of damage.
