KTS as a diagnostic testerThe KTS acts as a Vehicle Communication Interface and establishes a connection between the vehicle and ESI[tronic]. Available diagnostic testers are currently the KTS 560 and the KTS 590.
Diagnostic laptop or tabletA Windows-based laptop or tablet is required for the smooth installation of the ESI[tronic]. These should use Windows 10 or Windows 11 as the operating system and have a working memory of 8 GB (RAM). In addition, an SSD hard drive should be installed.
To make everyday workshop life easier, we recommend the DCU 220 convertible laptop or the DCU 150 tablet, which can withstand the robust conditions of the workshop and are adapted to the ESI[tronic].
Stable internet connectionIn order to be able to use the ESI[tronic] diagnostic software fully and at any time, a stable Internet connection is important. It ensures that new software updates are downloaded and installed via the Diagnostic Download Manager.
In order to always provide workshops with the latest data, a major software update is made available every quarter, which is supplemented by regular interim updates. New updates include extended vehicle coverage of vehicles recently launched, improved diagnostic features, such as optimized coding or programming routines, or new diagnostic protocols to support new communication standards.
To ensure accurate diagnostics, it is recommended to install the provided software updates regularly. The updates can be installed via the Bosch Diagnostic Download Manager.
Secure Diagnostic Access (SDA) is a central solution from Bosch that provides access to diagnostic-protected vehicle systems from various manufacturers. More and more vehicle manufacturers are securing their vehicle electronics (e.g. with the help of so-called "security gateways") to protect them from unauthorized access and manipulation. With the help of the one-time registration of the Single Key ID from Bosch, the comprehensive diagnostics of several vehicle manufacturers are unlocked. This means that workshops are no longer dependent on individual solutions from individual manufacturers. Here's how the process works in practice:
One-time preparationIn order to access protected diagnostic data, the one-time registration of the Single Key ID is necessary. A personal e-mail address and a self-defined password are used for this purpose.
Diagnostics on the vehicleAfter successfully connecting the KTS to the ESI[tronic], the software automatically recognises that it is an access-protected vehicle when the diagnostic function is started. A pop-up window will appear asking you to log in with the Single Key ID. After successful registration, the vehicle is unlocked and the user can carry out extensive diagnostics on the vehicle.
No, the full diagnostic function for Tesla models is included as standard in all common ESI[tronic] software packages. Therefore, no separate software license is required.
In order to be able to establish a connection with the vehicle, the Tesla cable kit from Bosch provided for this purpose is required on the hardware side.
ESI[tronic] Parts Online is a pure, web-based spare parts catalog. It is used for the fast and precise identification of Bosch spare parts via a normal web browser. As an ideal tool for parts dealers and workshops, ESI[tronic] Parts Online also provides information about component repair.
