Secure Diagnostic Access Full speed ahead

Overcoming the barrier of protected diagnostic vehicle data

With the introduction of Secure Diagnostic Access (SDA) Bosch launched a smooth and standardized solution to the complex and challenging changes in the diagnostic environment.

Designed to protect vehicle electronics from cyber threats and hacking – manufacturers secure the vehicle data in order to limit the access to protected diagnostic data. It is noteworthy that the scope of protected data differs from vehicle manufacturer to vehicle manufacturer. In the face of increasingly stringent and commonplace protected vehicle data SDA from Bosch helps workshops to deliver a full service to their customers. As without access to this data, the diagnostic capabilities are very limited.

The launch of SDA in 2021 was just a starting point. Since then, the number of models with protected vehicle data has grown. SDA is therefore being continuously expanded (brand and make).

One key - many doors

Secure Diagnostic Access (SDA) is the central solution for bundling and standardizing the multitude of individual solutions offered by vehicle manufacturers for protecting diagnostic data. The required authentication steps are specified by the vehicle manufacturers and may vary. ESI[tronic] points out the necessary steps to the user at the right places and guides him through the process quickly and easily. The user does not need to be familiar with the individual and manufacturer-specific process steps.

SDA provides an ever-growing access that is standard in all packages (Diagnostic, Advanced and Master) of ESI[tronic].

Without access to protected vehicle data, it may no longer be possible for many workshops to carry out all the tasks required for a complete service.

As part of the ESI[tronic] diagnostic software, the central, integrated, and standardized function provides fast, uncomplicated access to secure vehicle data for various vehicle manufacturers and models and is continuously being expanded by Bosch.
