Commercial vehicle operations are uncompromisingly geared to the requirements of reliability and profitability – the risk of vehicle failure should be minimized. In 1930, Robert Bosch used special paper for fuel filters for the first time. From then on, this paper has been continuously developed and is still used today. Bosch has been manufacturing filters in Spain since 1978. Today, fuel filters, oil filter elements and Denoxtronic filters are developed and manufactured in Aranjuez.

The filter developers work directly with the developers of the gasoline and diesel injection systems – this means first-hand knowledge of the technical requirements.

There must be no compromises when it comes to product quality. In addition to high-quality materials and excellent workmanship, this also includes optimized tuning of the filter properties. As these properties impact each other, they must be precisely matched to each other to ensure excellent filtration performance.

Goal of the test: Is the pore size of the filter medium within the permitted range, is the filter medium fine-pored enough?

Method: Measurement of the air pressure required to open the first three pores of the filter medium.

Process: A section of the filter medium is fixed in a test cylinder. The test cylinder is filled with a certain amount of petroleum. The filter medium is exposed to an air flow from below, the strength of which increases steadily. As soon as the first three chains of air bubbles rise in the petroleum, i.e. the first three pores open, the kilopascals (kPa) required for this are measured.

The consequences of not changing filters in the vehicle on time can prove very unpleasant.
